I am an avid believer in the human need for connection. When someone is given an opportunity to tell their story, to be seen and heard and understood, it can be transformative. This is my guiding principal as a therapist.
I graduated from Antioch University with a Masters in Clinical Psychology. Before beginning my studies at Antioch, I worked in the entertainment industry for over a decade, where I discovered my passion for witnessing people’s stories and helping them feel connected and seen.
I have a wide range of experience working with people from all walks of life, helping them learn to manage or overcome anxiety, depression, high levels of stress, trauma, grief/loss, ambiguous loss, creative blocks, codependency, and life transitions. Therapy is personal, and I believe that no one treatment method is right for every person. I approach my work through a psychodynamic framework, and pull from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Narrative therapies to make the therapy as effective and meaningful as possible for each client.
I engage with clients through active listening, curiosity, humor, and thoughtful questions to help the client explore and discover possible avenues toward their goals. I offer a safe, confidential, nonjudgmental space for clients to express themselves and their innermost thoughts. My hope for every client is that they learn to foster stronger, healthier, more fulfilling relationships- with others and with themselves.
I have a particular passion for working with mothers, helping them find balance between their role as a parent and their self-identity. I also have a special interest in working with parents in couples therapy, as they navigate the often conflicting needs, priorities and desires in this season of life.
I understand how overwhelming searching for a new therapist can feel. If you are curious about working together, please reach out for a free 15 minute phone consultation to see if we might be a good fit.
